Stupid me... wait they sing?????

I'm never out there when they lay and the coop is far from the house. WOW! I wonder what my girls sound like!

Yeah, none of mine sing. Sometimes the BA can get a little vocal before, with a drawn out baaaaaaaaaaaawk but that's about it.

The only time I heard one associated with an egg was because I was doing some bedding maintenance while the RR was nesting, and what I was doing came into her eye line at some point and she did NOT APPROVE. Jumped out bokbokbokbok bawgawked, and out came an egg over the bedding.

Sounds like it is very normal for them to sing, but not all do, nor all the time. I am terrified that I'll go through all the time, money, effort and affection of getting chickens only to have one or more cause neighbors to complain. That's about the only way they'd make me get rid of them. Of course, waking me at 6 am may not be fun either. Good to hear testimonials that not ALL do.
