No eggs yet Advise please

I have some late bloomers from May as well. Still waiting on first eggs from them as well.

I dont think I bought roosters they were tagged and I was told they were definitely laying hens

certainly hens. The barred rock looks like it is going to lay, but it obviously isn't yet. When they do lay, tell us.

Maybe they didn't get enough protein, the layer feed usually skimps on it. Mind checking the label, what percentage?

There would be a label sewn into/on the bottom seam of the bag, not listed on the actual bag itself. If you are mixing anything with scratch, it lowers the protein content of the layer feed, though. My scratch grain mix is actually a cock conditioner with 16% protein all by itself, unlike most average scratch mixes, which are usually about 8% protein, plus my layer is 22% protein so even if they eat more grains than pellets (I do not mix them) during the day, they still get a decent average protein level.

All that said, some are just terrible layers. Just today, I got a Belgian D'Anver egg, first one in about a year. That's how bad they are, LOL. They eat the same exact food as all the others. Of course, now they are getting up in years as well so I don't even count on an egg from those remaining four hens anymore.

I looked it up too, sorry I've seen a lot with only 16%.

I will go back to 16% in summer when they are not molting and they are all going out on range and getting green forage as well. Other than that, mine is always the 22%.

You'd be amazed at how late some start laying. My latest was 44 weeks. Second latest was 40 weeks.

Went out this morning and Finally found a egg!! So glad I at least have one that will lay eggs!
