Came upon my attention a couple of months ago about the issue with Purina layers chicken food being contaminated... I was getting two eggs a day out of my seven since September. I switched to manipro and now I get three eggs a day I also tried Kamalacha and nothing happened so I went back to manapro and I'm getting three eggs a day.. so I'm not going to buy any more Purina and go for broke with the Mano pro and hopefully the other four chickens will start to lay.

When you join a forum it's helpful to read back at least a page or so. That way you can get an idea of what's been happening, and take the temperature of the room.

To summarize: I think we are plum tired of this.
Proof was egg increase. MA chicken owner of 40 had same problem with no eggs since September switched to Blue Seal for eggs.

Would my flock's increased rate of lay be proof that it was the amount of light since I never changed feed?

This this this. So much this! Just because it was winter and chickens were naturally not laying, and now light hours increased which also happened to be around the same time most people switched does not prove anything

My chickens have eaten Purina and laid eggs. Then it was winter and I switched food and they stopped laying eggs. Because thats what chickens do in the winter but for the sake of conversation. A week ago I switched to a local mill because I didn't want to drive farther and they were almost out. Now they are laying eggs again. Because that's what chickens do when the days get longer. A sample size of one with those kinds of variables does not a scientific method make. Please read the other threads on this topic-they are very informative:
