No electric and want heat

I’m really wanting some Serama babies for my fancies coop. However they are going to need heat. I have no power and no outlet outdoors to run a cord from. Any inventive and not $1000 solutions? It doesn’t need to be crazy warm, but enough that our nights dipping into single digits sometimes doesn’t let the coop get below freezing.

I would go heavy on insulation, but still be aware that they need plenty of ventilation.
It may be hard...
I'm not sure what else you could do, except run some extension cords from the closest outlet.

Hop on YouTube and search "cheap or diy greenhouse heaters". Their are a lot of good ideas that don't require power.

Not familiar with the needs of Seramas - my gut tells me single digit temps are fine even for tiny birds, but I've never kept any.

That would be my thought too. But I’ve never had seramas, only bantams that have more of a OEGB build.

The only seramas I had trouble with cold were the silkie type. Most smooth and frizzle do fine.

I have no experience with cold temperatures, sorry. Neither am I convinced that single digitsare at all concerning - but the birds I have experience with are a more "practical" sort - Brahma, RSL, Wyandotte, CX, and barnyard mixes of same.

So everything I’ve read they don’t do so well under 40° So my main concern is when we dip down to single digits and teens. I’ve also got a silkie and soon 2 showgirls back there.
