NICE! I bet you have what they call a syndesmosis screw that reconnects your tib-fib. It's a long narrow screw. If so, that will probably have to come out after awhile. It goes between the tibia and fibula and provides stability. I do love ortho trauma and miss it sometimes until I think about having to get in the car in the middle of the night and go to the hospital. But, then when you get there it's exhilarating to be able to fix a mess like yours! Nothing like a good old drill and saw in your hands and trays full of plates and screws to get the heart pumping! Both leg bones, tibia, and fibula are broken at the ankle and the ankle bone itself is broken too. The doc told me that I have a plate with eight screws at my tibia a screw in the fibula and a nail in the ankle bone.
Merry Christmas to you too!
