No Love 4 Cali?

I'm on the Central Coast. Everybody is all N. CA or S. CA. I'm in the middle! Well, in 4H we're in the Southern Section, so I guess I'm from the southern half.

Lone ccowboy-Have you ever been up in the mountains around Bakersfield?? I lived most of my life neaar the beach, I HATE the beach I have always loved the mountains.
We have the warm weather in the summer and the cold weather in the winter. we have the best of both both worlds!!

Oh yeah. I like Tehachipe (sp) I've been to Fraizer Park. I go up through the Grapevine quite often. Still don't like it. I wouldn't mind living in Northern Cali, but you still have a bunch of limiting laws. My DH calls it the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia. It's just getting too big. Most of my family is still there, so I do try to go visit from time to time.

Bubba- We live at the base of MT. Pinos.

slocrevs- where do you live? We moved up here from Port Hueneme, a lot of our family lives in the ventura co. area and DH still works there.

lonecowboy- My DH calls it the same. We also refer to CA as the "no fun state" anything you can have fun with, you can't own in CA. His long time job is here so when we decided to move we chose to stay here instead of trying to find new employment. Also some of our parents weren't doing well healthwise, we wanted to be near for them in case we were needed for anything, and to spend more time with them.

I was born in CO, I would love to go back.

We were just talking about how it is sad that there aren't many people from SoCal (or Cali period!) with chickens! Guess there are more of us than we thought! We live in the high desert of SoCal...not all of Cali is paved roads and concrete! It'd be nice to have a circle of Cali chicken friends!

I live in the mountains East of Fresno, CA. It snowed here last night. Our area is beautiful and wild. Oh, and we live on a dirt road!!! I do get tired of the politics, laws, etc, here in CA, but the area that I live in is very laid back and rural - nothing like a larger town. Schwartzenegger (governor)would probably think he landed in another state if he visited here!!!
