No one around here wants to do the dishes

If you were my sister (who has been known to eat ice cream with a BUTTER KNIFE- What the heck?) I would scold you. As it is I'm too busy laughing.

we have a dishwasher and there are still dirty dishes in the sink. its much harder then i thought going back to work. i usually get home around 6 and theres laundry and dishes and kids baths and check homework. seems like i am always chasing my tail. going to try getting a schedule organized thank god my hub and children are willing to help i am EXHAUSTED!

Decades ago, when my three kids were young teenagers, I solved the problem for a while, by buying inexpensive dishes and silverware in different colors .
One kid had blue, one set was yellow, one red. The handles on the forks, spoons and knives were the same color as the dishes. One large dinner plate, one smaller salad plate, one cereal bowl, one dessert bowl and one drinking glass, all with the same color for that kid's set.

Told everyone to use, wash, dry their own stuff ONLY, and that worked for a few months.

Lucky for me, who hates doing dishes, I can usually trade cleaning the kitchen for washing my sister's laundry. I don't mind so much the laundry, but not a fan of dishes in the least bit. I unload the dishwasher in the morning and make sure to rinse and load my own stuff. But even with an empty dishwasher it is too hard for everyone to rinse and put their dishes in there. Oh well, soon enough I won't have to worry about it.

Only a few months? Seems like a really good idea to color code!
