No. We do NOT ship to Hawaii!

and it keeps getting better. I am REALLY beginning to loath selling on Ebay even more than I already did.

We "sold" a tranny to a guy. This happened on a Monday night via Ebay. I got in first thing Tues morning and went to process it. Only to find out that the guys downstairs had sold the tranny to a local guy Monday AFTERNOON at around 2pm. I only work til 1pm.
So I was unaware the tranny had been sold.
The sales manager called every other salvage yard around us to find out if someone had it, so that we could buy it from them to send to the Ebay buyer. Others had it,, but at a lot more than we had sold it for to the Ebay guy.

I emailed him at around 930 am to let him know that the part had been sold and that we could not find another one. And that his entire purchase price would be refunded to him on Wednesday when the office manager got in. I do not have access to the PayPal account to process refunds. So Wed morning his money was processed back to him. VERY TIMELY and professionally handled all around.

well the Ebay guy just left us a negative feedback~!

Why? Because it was sold locally and the "refund" was SLOW.
WTH? The next day was slow? And I apologized and let him know exactly what was going on THE NEXT DAY.

And of course sellers cant leave negative or neutral feedback on a Buyer. The only thing "we' can do is reply to a negative feedback that was already given.

BTW sorry about that admin. I will watch it from now on.

I'm guessing you have a used parts company?!

I used to, actually its still a registered company with the IRS, just haven't bothered with it in 4 years.

I got a LOT of those questions weekly. What REALLY blew my mind was the fact we ONLY carried Honda, Acura and Lexus used parts?!?!
It was all over our site, and in every single ebay listing... but still... I'd have people asking for parts for their Ford or Chevy?!

Weird!

Salvage yard.

I love that I have a job. I love the people I work with. The owner of the place is awesome.

BUT.

These Ebayers are driving me nuts.
Latest.. like just seconds ago... woman bought a tranny.
It says, again on EVERY listing that we can NOT deliver a freight item to a private home. She doesnt have a loading dock in her front yard. So I email her asking if her mechanic can take delivery.
she comes back with her "mechanic is <insert chain that does this type of work> on such and such a street. Where will we be delivering the trans?"

I politely asked her to contact the place and ask them if they can/will take the freight delivery. Then I went downstairs and asked the guys if they had any beer or if the giant bottle of Goldslager (sp) was still around. Answer was no on both. the rats.

I am afraid this sale will end up canceled and that this woman will leave us negative feedback. Even though I have bent over backwards to get her this tranny. I even lowered the price and changed the listing to a fixed price for her!!!

I was cleaning out my late GM's house and sold a bunch of those cheap big eye sad kid prints in the cheap plastic frames on ebay. (Some of those the kids are dressed as clowns etc..) I had people call me looking for leads on other ones I might dig out of the rubble, call me in extreme excitement (have you shipped it? can't wait for it to get here), it was wierd expending thought and breath on these hideous art objects and I wondered about the people I was talking to. Might they hunt me down and break into her empty house? strange

I used to sell on ebay all the time. Since the policy change, I have been afraid to!!! I just sell other places and let people know I have a 100% ebay rating and give them my details

Yeah....eBay has gone down FAST!!!! I used to sell there a LOT but WHYYYYYY can't I leave a negative for a buyer????? There are some very bad buyers out there!!! I havent sold there in ages. I was a PayPal only person.....I do NOT like waiting for a money order that may never arrive. It was always clearly stated and I can't tell you the # of personal checks we got.....all ripped in half and mailed back. If you can't read, don't shop online!!!!

Ohhhh....but I do understand the frustration of the Hawaii residents, too.

I lived in Alaska for 4 1/2 years. I would have gladly paid the extra shipping but so many people refused to even consider it. One lady said NO, I ship to the US ONLY. I never did convince her I wasn't some evil alien living in some foreign country.

I also used to sell all the time on ebay. Now, I only do it when I can't sell it any other way! First of all, it has become FEEbay, and second, I have found the buyers afraid of negative feedback are now running wild, because they feel free to do so.
There are so many other places now- I have been trying out www.onlineauction.com . It's $8.00 per month, no percentage or other fees. They are the anti-feebay!

Oh yeah- even though my listings say NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING I get requests all the time.

If it helps I had my cookie business, the car parts and some art I used to sell on ebay since about 1999... that's 10 years! Finally, I was so done with the insanity of it all... I left ebay and went to Etsy.com instead. (But that's only for handmade goods)

I also worked for a company a short time (they went under because they didn't listen to me) that sold for people on ebay. The INSANE things they would bring me to list for them was ridiculous!

Then the people who bought those things.... even weirder!
