no wonder I hate dogs

Deerman, I'm so sorry.

I too have many dogs (that I do keep within my own property). And I too have crummy neighbors (that don't keep their dogs off me) with nasty dogs that attack anything that breathes.

Believe me there are people out there who give a hoot about where their dogs are. Like you, I have neighors who just don't care at all. And what's frustrating is that they keep telling my family members that they have resolved it and will keep their dogs in, but the dogs still come here. And what's worse, the dogs speed in, do their damage and leave before I can point a gun at them. Eventually, I'll get them. And so will you.

I hope you resolve your problem and don't lose anymore chickens.

I know not all dog owners, or all dogs are trouble. I am taliking about those owners that will not keep their dogs up.

I know all kind of way to control the dogs, but every time I put my guard down, this happens. I am talking about 30 min.

Been having trouble with dogs here over the years.

A couple years back we had a neighbor that would take his dog for a run in an unusual manner. He would ride in his pickup truck while the dog ran through people's yards behind.

My older daughter just happened to be here the day he ran through our front yard and grabbed one of our beautiful sebastopol free ranging geese minding their own business. She made him drop the goose who he was shaking. The man did not even stop- just called "come on boy" !

When she told me what happened, I watched for the truck the next day ar the same time. I jumped in my car and tracked him down the street. I was just a "little" upset..... He promised not to "drive this way". What a jerk!!! I have not seen that dog for the longest time- probably got hit........

I had a new neighbor move in years ago who had two dogs, one a Great Dane. First thing he did was chase my chickens. The neighbor was pleasant to me but said the reason she moved to the country was so her dogs could run free. I told her the freedom of her dogs was the size of her property. (She had a lot; we had ten acres.) Both her dogs disappeared and she thought we did it, but it turned out there was someone stealing dogs and selling them. Lucky for her she got them back. I might be a stinker at times, but I am not a dog thief. lau.

I am a dog lover BUT I really get tired of people letting there dogs run loose. A loose dog is a magor pain in the butt. We have dog laws but, they still let them run free. What I have is they chain them during the day and let them run free at night. they get in peoples trash and cause my dogs to bark at night. This is selfishness/stupid people. Luckly I have a big fence. I always wanted extra land but...hearing these things you certainly can't put 6' chain link around 40 acreas. Sorry for your loss.

My goodness, that's unbelievable, I took that poll and was shocked at the amount of No answers.
pretty sad when a dogs life is worth more to some than the life of a 4 day old baby.
appalling to say the least.

These dog threads are pure poison. Don't shoot the dog, it is only doing what nature tells it to do. The problem is with the owner.

Leave a very dead animal out for the dog to roll in. Nature tells it to do this too. The stinkier the better.

If you don't have a dead animal handy, dump out one of those bottle fly traps that has been around for about a month or two. It will gag a maggot. Doggies just love that smell.

Hopefully, rover will make it to their new sofa before the problem is detected.

Maybe after they have to bathe their little baby doggy a couple of times, they will control him.

Rufus
