Nomming

I do research on what you describe.

The behaviors you described, like snuggling up on her shoulder, making a “nomming” sound with her mouth, and “nuttering” or mouth smacking, are all great signs that your Silkie is feeling super comfortable, happy, and secure. She trusts you enough to snuggle up close. The nomming sound and mouth smacking are just her way of saying, “This feels amazing!” She feels safe enough to let her guard down and show you how much she loves you.

Silkies are known for being super friendly, social, and affectionate. It’s awesome that you’re building such a strong bond with your Silkie!
