I have a year old jungle fowl rooster to replace the one I lost in the fateful dog attack a few months ago. I did the quarantine thing for a month (good thing too. Mine got sick right after I got him. He was fine in his dog crate in another building)

he does not crow. Has full GORGEOUS plumage. He struts around like he owns the place, but has not mated with anyone as far as I can tell. None of my eggs have the telltale spot, and I adore watching my chickens. Also, the BA hens bully him a bit.

Now, jungle fowl are somewhat smaller than standard chickens. Is that the reason? I moved out to the country because I wanted to hear those great sounds. Where's my crow!?!?

Maybe he is a late bloomer!
