I am of the opinion that he is young and testing out his new found ability. I've always thought of the crow as a roll call to the flock. If something happened recently that spooked them he may call out more frequently to see where everyone is. I'd give it time and try some of the suggestions about detouring him. If he doesn't tire of making a racket you could try a collar. Better then an axe...

I disagree, the axe appears to be a better choice than the collar based on that video.

My rooster, when he does crow wearing the collar, sounds nothing like the one in the video. He is quieter than usual, but doesn't sound like he is being strangled.

Yes it is. We can offer opinions and advice until the cows come home. But ultimately it's up to the chicken keeper to decide what's best for their flock. As long as it doesn't cause pain or suffering for the chickens, of course. Cruelty is never an acceptable option.

Cruelty should never be an option. I'm not a culling chicken owner. I would exhaust all options before it came to that. I know everyone is different. I respect that.
