Normal Chicken owner behavior??

Ariana, my husband wants to know if your husband is a carpenter (because women can't build pens dontchaknow) and/or if you have the plans for the AMAZING coop. We've been meaning to build Mother one for yonks and that's the most gorgeous/perfect one for her. :3

I've had my girls for a year and a half now, and I still worry and fuss and generally act like, well, a mama hen.

This fall, I purchased a pair of chicken shoes for one of my girls, because of a problem with bumblefoot. They're great for that, actually - keep the bandages on and the feet protected. Fish was less than impressed when I first put them on her, but her feet healed very well, and also she looked super sporty.

So, uh, yeah... right there with ya on the worrying and spoiling.

All th Time_ there is a nice itallian place we go to that serves salad in a huge bowl no matter how many people are at the table. I always ask for the exta to be wrapped up for the chickens. The worst part is that i CRING as i see the left overs from other tables being hauled off to the backroom!

www.indoorducks.com. They specialize in duck shoes and duck diapers, but also they do chicken shoes in all sizes, and special silkie shoes to accomodate feathered feet. My friends joke that I should get a little tiny fleece jacket for Fish, to match the shoes. I keep telling them that, seriously, someone out there probably has that covered...

Well, don't forget, we're all waiting for the OP to share her knitting pattern for chicken socks!

Thank you Elizabeth.
I built that coop my self as well as the run.
I am a stay at home mom with lot's of energy and I learn things as I go.
You can imagine my husband's reaction when I called him at work few weeks ago and asked him how do I start the chain saw. By the time he got home, I managed to cut down several trees taller than the house, clean a 25ftx25ft area, dig the holes and put the posts in the concrete for the new extension.
My poor husband never objects to my chicken project, mostly because I do the :"surprise!!!" thing when he gets home. He did helped me with the chicken wire fence and the deer net on the top, it took two people for that, one to pull and one to nail.
I found the coop design online and is made to house 15 Bantams. It's a very simple and basic design, easy to follow by anyone, and my husband had all the tools I need it to do it.

My dream coop is a little cottage with a flower box under the window.
