Normal for a broody?

I took her off her nest for the first time to try and eat and drink, and when she turned around and went to go back she acted like she could barely walk, her left wing acting like it was broke - it flapped a few times, and she would take a slow step at a time.

She's probably getting off on her own to eat and drink, you're just not seeing it. (protection of her nest instinct) I thought my broody wasn't eating, then I started watching the food level and noticed it was going down. (I had her separated, so she was the only one eating it)

I have noticed that my broody will defend her chicks by putting her wings out, head down and puffing up like a turkey. You may be seeing the wing part of it to defend her nest.
