Normal yolk

Just had a duckling hatch. It hatched on its own, but wondering if it's normal to have a small amount of yolk left in the egg. Dark and dirty glob.

Nothing to be too concerned about if it's small. The yolk will either finish absorbing or dry and fall off. Just don't try and pull it off or cut it.

Thanks, it was in the shell and already off the duckling.

I just had 5 hatch and each one had that glob of yolk left behind. Did yours look like this? Were your ducklings all ok? I had two with an infected umbilical cord and three seem perfectly health
