Newhomesteader I may need you to make me a saddle for my one girl! ;) I have a saddle I won on ChickenWhisperer but it fits my slightly smaller girls but not my big busty brahmas.

I'd be happy to make a saddle for you...first I need to get the elastic just right. Mine are either too smart or just too sneaky to leave the snaps alone and will actually pull the elastic so the snap opens or they can get their wing out!! GRR!! Making a few adjustments and we'll see how it goes...once it is tight enough to stay on, I'll take a photo for you to see!!

Kim - my girl is #2 alpha and so not only is she frequented by ALL the roosters (this should get better as we ate one of the boys last night...just like Bhep!! LOL) but she also gets "pecked" by the alpha female each time one of the boys pays her a visit. It's rather funny, but you can tell there is a bit of jealousy in the flock...especially since #2 is a lav and #1 is a buff...if the buff rooster visits her, #1 goes after her - cat fight like!! LOL. HENS!! I did have quite a few boys to girls and as such I think that was part of the problem. We have only 11 chickens (12 at the time) and 3 were roosters, so it was a bit crowded!!

Love that Mottled girl Beth. I so regret selling my project D'uccles but I needed the room for my silkies and my d'uccles were kinda flighty and not real friendly.

The top pic is the D'Uccle the bottom is the Serama mix....had to go back and look at the pics.

She is a Serama mix.... She just hangs around the barnyard.. I was hoping she would be as good a broody as her mama.....not yet

Hi,
I introduced myself on the introductory thread, and a kind NCer directed me here. I'm Meg, and I live in Parkton, between Fayetteville and Lumberton. I'm pleased to see the NC swaps and sales posted, as I'm looking to add some bantams to the place. And I'm always open to more Orpingtons of any color. Nice to meet you!
