Just put in the spring pullet chick order to ShookPoultry. April 12 I will drive over and pick up 68 female chicks. On the way home I will drop off all but 6. That will be my first chicks of the year. I won't even start the incubator till after the ChickenStock on April 28. The eggs I am hoping to get are the only bantam eggs I will hatch this year. I need to stick only with the larger birds.

We got 41 eggs yesterday, but 22 were bantams. The dutch and dutch mixes are laying very well. I love the little birds, but the egg customers are begging for big eggs. Come Easter I can sell the little ones by the flat like crazy. People love those little white/cream eggs for dying for the kids to hunt.

I THINK it is a rooster. But just not 100%. Been getting 2 eggs a day from that pen of 5. So logic tells me that she is a he.
