Sorry Wild.....

Had a fun & busy day....
Played with critters & picked veges with doublea, then had a picnic and went for some DELISH ice cream.

Went to Mary & Bennies....played with more critters, dropped off birds & eggs, picked up eggs. DD is begging for a piglet

I DO NOT NEED A PIG OR A GOAT !!!
old.gif
NO MATTER HOW CUTE !!!!

On the way home came across an adorable lop eared bunny on the side of the Hwy.... Pulled over, DD picked her up and she is dirty, skin & bone, she is happily eating and drinking . So I guess we have a new rabbit.

Awe...Where's the photo of the skinny bunny?? How sweet of you to rescue it!! Which DD adopted the bunny?? #1 or #2?? How about we make a deal...we will get the goat (and sheep, sorry NO pigs here either...maybe a cow, if we get the extra land next to us...going to have to start bribing one of the brothers with fresh eggs) and your kids can come by whenever they want to pet and cuddle the goat. How does that sound??

I think Beth needs a pig and a goat....

Hope you had a good day!!

CRAZY day here!! DD#1 told me yesterday that she wants to wear big girl panties, and has been potty training (again) this week. So far, she is intitiating it and so I am rolling with it. DD2 had her 2 month (oh my - has it been 2 months already??
th.gif
) Drove 45 mins to the doctor's office, spent an hour there with DD2 getting shots
hit.gif
and drove the 45 mins home and no accidents, so I am hopeful. Any advice from you all who have been there done that??
It rained here so the chickens and chicks all hid out...DD2 slept most of the day and DD1 and I made some "moon sand" and played most of the afternoon!! Have a great evening everyone!!

Got all the teenagers in the duplex sorted. I'd miscounted the lav cockerels. Not eight. Nine.
barnie.gif
So I have a total of 13 cockerels that must either get sold or get eaten. They can not stay. But all the pullets on both sides now have numbered bands, the BCM cockerels are all banded, and the 13 cockerels are separated.
woot.gif
Because of all the chicken manuevering, I was late locking up the other birds and collecting eggs. I checked on the babies in Juvenile Detention last. In Penthouse 1, where the youngest chicks are, with heat lamp, I realized a side effect of the heat lamp that has not been apparent to me during the day. The cages are plenty big enough for the chicks to move out of the heat, so that's not a problem. But after dark, the lamps attract insects. The bantam chicks...the youngest there...were having a tremendous arguement over a June bug. Needless to say, the June bug lost. I just stood there laughing, watching them scurry around trying to hide it from the others. Then they had to put it down to peck at it, and another would swoop in and snatch it, and they'd be chasing each other around again. Just like the adults when one has something particularly good, like a mouse. Hilarious in week-old bantam chicks!

I had been planning on getting red bulbs for the lamps, so the chicks can sleep all night, but this is better. They can learn young how to attack and kill a great huge June bug!

Have a good night everyone!
