Beth, of all the eggs I got from you, the only thing I can't keep is any BLRW roos. (Unless hubby likes them enough to build them their own space!) All the rest of the birds will stay, unless there is a huge disparity in roo:hen ratio.

Oh...is anyone braving the TSC flock swap, or WCA this weekend? It will be a touch cooler than last week, but I'm not sure if I want to expose my birds to it or not. I've got OEG bantam chicks and a couple lavender cockerels and a mix or two to dispose of. I've got a freezer full of chicken, so am not inclined to butcher the cockerels in this heat!

I am pretty sure we will be there... I have a few bunnies & ducks I need to sell... but I hesitate taking them with the heat in mind.... we will probably make up our mind on that.... on the very last minute.

I need to sell some too...but also hesitate due to the weather.

Now that you bring that up

, it was all of the pretty different colors that got me into chickens again.

I do like these colors!

Oh, goody! There's hope!

Actually, he's looking at them now based on fly-tying feathers. My son is a fly-tyer and fly-fisher, and hubby keeps thinking he's going to take time to learn to tie his own flies, too. He can barely find time to fish, much less tie, but there you have it. When my son was home a couple weekends ago, he and his girlfriend and a pair of scissors made all my roos look rather raggedy. Oh, well, they'll molt...then he'll do it again.

I'm hoping he'll get into all my egg colors. There will be an array of colors coming soon!

Oh, Scott! I have two drums that belong to you. When do you want them? I can deliver, ya know.

Or you can fetch, if you're of a mind to. Your call!

I was thinking of picking up the drums after CSB gets back from her road trip, give her a ride in my new used pick-up! Can you wait for 2-3 more weeks? And the different egg colors are just so eye catching, we have most all of the colors but white!

Thanks much

Hello everyone we are new to byc and just getting started with our ameraucanas all of our birds are 12 weeks or younger, we hatched them all. We have wheten, sliver, white blue wheaten, blue, blue splash, and lavender(i know last 2 colors are recongized yet) but our goal is have a flock of good pure ameraucanas no color preference, and a small of flock of show quality blue ameraucanas, we just got a gorgeous 3 month blue pullet from a friend that used to show them and this was the last one out of her flock she had left.....i've gotten some good young ameraucanas to start flock with, but we are looking to learn and a breeder of show blue ameraucanas to look into purchasing some eggs from........So if their is anyone that has blue ameraucanas or knows someone please let us know.......Thanks

Not problem; they aren't in the way. I just thought you might want them.

And come to think of it...I don't have any white egg layers, either. I should get a few. It would make for nice contrast in the egg cartons.
