DirtyAnkleAcres!! Sounds like you have a good plan and pretty colors (I am not sure of all of those colors, being new and all, but they sound pretty!!)

Haha...mama cat vs mama cochin (the one with the lone BOY, aka Olivia) and a bowl of cat food. TOO FUNNY!! Mama cat is hissing and swatting at her while Olivia is trying to sneak a peck in here and there...Roaster the young roo is trying to sneak a peck in on the other side, but gets too close to mama cat's kittens so she "pushes" him off the deck. Then the big scary monster comes out on the deck to settle the dispute and both chickens run and hide while mama finishes eating and snuggles up with her babies to nurse!! How can you resist KITTENS?!?!? Oh wait...I am suppose to be looking for home for them, yeah. Anyone want a kitten?? They're fluffy and cute!! DD1 thinks that Snickers is also outside...2 of them are brown tigers and she calls each of them Snickers as well. NO NO NO NO NO NO I am NOT keeping any of these and mama WILL be fixed if she is planning on staying around!! (Yes, that sounds convincing!!)

I am crazy...heading to the outlet mall today to visit with a friend. Lugging 2 kids, a double stroller, a diaper bag and PLENTY of extra clothing/undies and perhaps even packing the potty...all in 90 degree weather. WHAT was I thinking?? Well...it is an adventure OUTSIDE of my realm, so it'll all be worth it!!

I hope everyone stayed safe yesterday!! We had a NASTY storm blow through with a nice drenching of rain!! Fierce winds though, strong enough to move our slide from off the sandbox cover!! Thankful for the rain (and the cooling temperatures it brought) as it saved me from having to water our trees again yesterday!! Woot!! Have a great day...I'm OFF to get things packed for the day...lol, perhaps I will be on time...NAH!!

I'm gonna have to sell a few of my birds due to my space being cut in half

SO I will be on in the next day or so after I talk to the gf with a list of what she is willing to let go. Little does she know we are gonna process and cook 2 of them. Funny thing is she said she would never eat them because they are her "pets".......OOPS!
My question for everyone is: How come none of you told me how much of a pain in the butt it is to own a home?!?!?!? I tried to plan a vacation and took time off work only to spend it all at home fixing stuff.

That's all the complaining I'll do for now. Hope everyone stays cool in this sauna we call outside.

What? Didn't you know that that's what vacations are FOR when you're a home-owner? No more calling the landlord to fix this or that...you ARE the landlord!

Don't worry, though. The benefits balance the PIA stuff. Really!

Picking up a couple used dog runs this evening to convert for the bantams. They are both 6 x 10 x 6. I want them to go where the turkey nest boxes currently sit, so we'll have to wait until the sitting turkey hen is done to put them where I want and install shelters and cover, but then ground access will be had! I'll likely put the BBR quad in one of them, and for a while at least rotate the crele pair and lemon-blue pair in the other so they all have earth time. One will eventually become the Phoenix pair's home, I think.

I was just working up to tell hubby that I don't think bantams are really for me, when he commented that he "really liked those little guys." Coming this close on his comment about the BLRWs being pretty, I was not about to tell him I don't want to keep them all. But keeping the BBRs and the Lemon-blues would be good, and the creles can go elsewhere, maybe. Might even be able to divide one of those runs so they can all stay there permanently. That'd give a 5 x 6 area for each, which I think would be okay. With a good hardware cloth divider so the roos don't kill each other!

We'll see anyway.
