Sure, what I have done with my squash for years is blanching it and put it in the freezer, then I can add it to sauce or soups.

Bring a pot of water to boil.
fill a bowl with ice and water
Wash squash
cut up squash into slices
when the water is boiling place squash in water for 2 mins
when done immediately place squash in ice water using a slotted spoon until cool
put in marked bags and place in freezer

this is easy and blanching can be used on may veggies

Good Morning Everyone. Feeling much better today, but starting to stress....just realized that we will be heading to a wedding in less than 2 weeks and I have YET to finish my dress or my DH's tie for it, let alone the wedding present!!

Looks like once the girls wake up, we will be spending the day upstairs in the sewing room/office!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Thanks Sharon!
We enjoy our squash on the grill....would this process also work for us wanting to grill during the winter? I usually cut up the squash long ways and into 4 long pieces....can I use this same process?

Good Morning Everyone!
Hubby returned yesterday and commented this morning on how much the chicks have grown this week. And how I have difficulty walking through the Juvenile pen.

Since I do the front henhouse first in the mornings, I have grass seeds on my shoes, and the phoenix and ameraucaunas are all over my shoes hunting grass seeds as soon as I walk in their pen. They're cute, but I have stepped on toes several times by accident. The turkey poults get more beautiful each day. There are more toms than hens, of course

, but I may keep one tom with the hens. I'm sorely tempted to continue this cross. I'll have to get pictures of these birds for you.

Looks like a lovely day. I've got to start going back to the office today to do the prep I was planning on doing over the summer. Too many distractions at home. So once I finish all the chores planned for today, I'll be off to work.

CSB, you should write a story about your travels. One for adults, and then a kids book. I'll read both!

Enjoy the day! Stay cool and comfy and Be Happy!

Wild, hope your ok and can safely remove the coon.

Bhep, what you run to WCA, what kind of turkey eggs?

Scottcaddy, aint nothing wrong with an odd looking chicken

Took to WCA: A pair of BBRs, a pair of Frizzles, a trio of Juvi Orps., a miscellaneous chicks (mostly frizzles, NNs ).

ETA: Turkey's are from Mary & Bennie....I think the Calico's. Plus I have RP & RPxBRs in the bator from a swap. AND your eggs I picked up from SC.

Quick question. Two of my RIR hens combs are floppy. They are eating and drinking well and seem fine other wise. Should I be concerned?
Sharon

Naaa... it is time for molt and it is hot. Their combs will get lighter and possibly flop over when they are taking a break from laying.
