Hmmm.. I am wondering the same thing ???? My temps don't drop when I add water.Does it stay at the lower temp the whole lock down or only when you open the bator to add the water? It should go right back up to temps.![]()
The temp slowly drops as the humidity rises and it always seems to level off right at 95? Maybe the humidity is screwing up my thermometer? The temp drop seems to get worse the higher the humidity especially as chicks start to hatch.![]()
Looks like lice eggs. Sevin dust, and permethrin drops (for horses) or permethrin concentrate (bought in a bottle and mixed to strength) use as a local spray...retreat in 7-10 days to get the bugs that hatch. best to bathe either before first treatment or at 2nd treatment and by hand try to remove as much of the stuff off the feathers as possible or pluck the worst affected feathers out as they are stuck like glue until the feather molts out even after the eggs hatch, the castings are still there.Help!!? I was taking pics for sale birds and realized that this white junk was all over two of my Silkies chins. Is it bugs? If so, whats the best way to get rid of it??
I checked everyone else (vents and crest/chins, big birds and Silkies) and they seem to be the only ones with the problem. i am going out tomorrow and can get whatever I need to fight this then... Just need to know what it is to be able to fix it.
THanks, Lenore
