My daughter has a quote she uses for a sig line that works very well for my current poultry issues.

Luka, you might want to borrow that one, too! Glad your mom is okay with it. You will get used to the idea, and realize that you don't have to change as much as you think in your life. You really don't. But the worry you are showing tells me that you are going to be a great dad. You care.

Good morning everyone!! Super fun day in store for the girls and I!! After a fun round of catch a kitten/cat we are headed off to spend the day drooling over all of Beth's goodies!! I plan on coming home with some guineas and ducks (YAY, thank you Beth & Mary) and hopefully have 1 if not 2 worn out girls...haha, maybe 3!! Baked 3 dozen thin mint wannabe cookies to take with me and DH only stole a few (I put the "rejects" aside for him!!
LOVING this cooler weather!! The sad part...I just realized DD1 has outgrown all of her warmer play clothes (okay ALL of her clothes) and DD2 doesn't have anything either. LOL...OOPS. WHEN did THAT happen?!?

Another cool day and the weatherman says it ain't gonna get over 80 for the next 10 days! here's hoping it doesn't touch 80 til next year! Well I'm off to town to do some grocery shopping.(I love being able to say “off to town” instead of being in town!)

I just realized DD1 has outgrown all of her warmer play clothes (okay ALL of her clothes) and DD2 doesn't have anything either. LOL...OOPS. WHEN did THAT happen?!?

While they slept. If you look closely, you can see them grow while they sleep.

One of my favorite comic strips, which I cut out and had on my fridge for years, was a Zits strip. Teenage son and mom were shopping for shoes. He put on a pair, traipsed around the store, and returned to mom. She asks, "Well?" He responds with, "I outgrew them."

We will be going to ChickenStock on the 22nd. Hopefully, nothing will get in the way this time. We will be bringing several sections of our Poultry Pickets for sale as well. Hoping to find some new additions to our flock.

If anyone is near Lincolnton this weekend and want something fun to do in this nice weather.....come to the Lincoln County Apple Festival. It's like a county fair without the rides...complete with all the fattening food you could ever hope to eat. Fresh orchard apples from our local growers, crafts, etc. Good Times!!!!

Yesterday was a scary day... I found out that all the idiots chopping down trees nearby have stirred up the predators and they are getting braver. We used to have wild boar and coyotes. I can deal with that... But now... We have a $^&*^& COUGAR!!!

My pens are predator proof but I don't think anything short of steel bars would stop a cougar from getting into my pens. The neighbor also thinks he saw evidence of a bobcat living around here too. Any ideas on how to repel wildcats? I am going to invest in a motion sensor light to point at my pens at night.. Anything else I could do? I am going to post in the Predator section too. Just wondered if you guys had any ideas.

You know it is really sad; I have been in this state for 7 years now, and I must never get out because I don't know where anything is!

I know where a few local markets are, cooperative extention office, the Libraries, grocery stores, Lowe's, TSC, wcc, ecu, many elem schools, and Duke Hosp/clinic. I have got to get out more.... This is terrible!!!!

It is like I need an intervention or something. OK... Time to check on the chickens... All of my guy are gone, and I will spend the day in the kitchen, yard, and on line doing research... blah... blah... blah...
