Yes!!  They also took my "unique" mutt roosters - my orpington rooster x blue cochin hen cross - these came out in some really unique color combinations and these are also gone...which is why I am inclined to think someone took them rather than a predator. I am so sorry to hear about your birds. That's just ridiculous though, I mean who does that!!! You know it's bad when you can't even let your babies free range for fear of someone stealing them!!! Like someone else said, hopefully they are just hiding somewhere.

Well......OK, I guess it is my turn now to come forward. My name is Sandy...and I am addicted :/ to hatching chickens. I have 3 incubators going at all times, I haven't shut them off since we got them except in between cleanings. But, but, but....it's so much fun hearing those little peeps and watching them hatch!!!

I have been hoping they are hiding, but DH walked the property, spent some time in the woods and we haven't found them. It's hard to think it could be a predator attack as they didn't leave the run (still a bit shy around the "bigger kids") but were very sweet and friendly - not to mention we had construction going on...I'm sure that was loud enough to keep all but a bird of prey away and would a bird of prey really fly into an enclosure (the run) to take the girls? I don't know, it just all seems "fishy" to me. I did mention to the Foreman when he stopped by to inquire on the job that I had 4 chicks missing and was wondering if anyone happened to mention "finding" them in the truck - I said they might have gone in there looking for bugs or something. He said he'd look into it. I can hope for the best, but I'm not so sure. It stinks because a) these were special to us and b) we live so far from people that I guess we took our location for granted as being "safe" from people. Looks like from now on when we have workers over everyone is under lock and key!!

Welcome to Hatchers Anonymous!! Sadly, I am not one of you as I do not own an incubator...YET. I do foresee one in our future though...as a Science Experiment for homeschooling...yeah, that's it!!
