If you're planning on locking them up every night, you could just cover the top with deer netting, that's what I've done. Pretty cheap and will keep the hawks relatively at bay. Not raccoon proof for sure, but it's worked for me for several years now. Do need to replace it every once in awhile when we get a heavy snow.

I bought Bird X 3/4" netting, cost me $46 for a 28'x28' net.... you can find it cheaper (sorry cheeper) on amazon, then i am sinking 8' 4x4 posts in the ground to give a bit more height to it all. I have a 30x10 area to cover, but bought the extra for expansion!! (It will be coming I tell you).........

I also have a small radio on 24/7 on classical or talk radio, it helps deter predators cos they think there is someone in there. And I bought cheap solar lights from Walmart ($1.50 each) and have them around the outside of the run..... Am thinking of a solar powered motion sensor light to go up too for darkness hours........

Neeley~~I would have gladly accepted your help. Thank goodness, almost everything is done for tomorrow; just 2 more "sold" birds to crate.
Have to get to bed early tonight.....5AM is going to come mighty quick
