North Carolina

I finally got around to ordering the chosen fruiting plants for this year. Yeah, it's March already. I'm late!

Anyway...It was cheaper to order 25 raspberry starts than fewer, so that's what I went with. But I don't need all 25. These are the Carolina Raspberry, developed for this climate. If anyone wants any, $2.50 per plant will cover my costs. I'm probably having hubby put in half of them, so will have a dozen or so left. Holler if you want some!
If you have some left not spoken for I would love to get 4 from ya.

Okay, so I have a lot more people interested than I thought, especially since I mentioned same on my facebook page! I may just call them and expand my order a bit, since I just placed it this morning. If I get another bundle of 25, I don't think I'll have trouble finding homes for them. However, if you want 25, you may want to order for yourselves. Their shipping isn't cheap, but in bundles of 25 the plants are $2.00. I added the .50 to cover the shipping, too. But the source is here: http://www.burntridgenursery.com/fruitingPlants/index_product.asp?dept=50&parent=30 and it's the fourth one down that I ordered.

Gosh I wish whey would have one in Western North Carolina! I would love to find some blue orps! Oh well 6 inches of snow today and 60's this weekend! Gotta love WNC! My poor chicks won't come out of the coop, guess they are cozy in there. Hope everyone is safe and warm!

The flock swap is in WNC, in polk county on the SC border, although I think you are about 2 hours from me so yeah, I understand you want one further west. You can call your local Ag department and ask them what it would take to hold a flock locally.

I don't know where Polk County is, anything east of Asheville is not west to us! Probably won't get anything out here, but even as close as Waynesville which is still an hour from here, would be good. Hopefully someday I can make it to one!

I need some advise on Elvis, my EE roo. He has gotten very aggressive, tries to attack me when I collect the eggs, feed or water. He took an aggressive spell when he was younger but seemed to have gotten over it, I figured it was just 'teenage' hormones. Now he has gotten very bad. Can this be 'fixed' or do I just need to put him a pot? Hate to do that he is very pretty, but I can't have him being that aggressive. Thanks for any advise.

My EE, Butch, got an aggressive streak going, I first I tried manhandling him, kicking him away, and carrying a broom with me. Then a friend told me to turn him loose, tie a rope(like the string that comes around a bale of straw) about 6ft long, to his leg, leave it loose enough to let the blodd flow, but tight enough so it won't slip off. Then every time he come at you, step on, or grab the rope and hold him in place or upside down, or under your arm for a few minutes until he settles down, then 'toss' him away, or hold the very end with your foot and give him a light kick in the rump. My boy is extremely pretty and I so didn't want to have to give him away. He was soo mean and after a couple weeks he has gotten much more docile.
