spent the weekend rearranging birds and breeding pens, and had to sell some groups. Some how word got out that I'll take unwanted farm animals.

I don't how or who told, but some one knows I can't so No to animals in need. Thankfully as quick as I take them in, I'm finding homes for them. Hope you all had a good day.

NH- so sorry you lost the chicks

does any one here breed showgirls? or any suggestions for some funny, weird looking birds to my flock, mainly because the neighbor kids I watch found pictures of show girls, and NN easter eggers. and now want me to get some

I'm looking for hatchings, 12-18 eggs shipped, fairly cheap, I'm not looking for show quailty just nice birds.

I have both ..white showgirls and NN EEs, also Frizzled EEs.

Okay, this pullet is going to need to go, soon. She wants to be a pet. She would be perfect for some child in town where she won't disappear into a huge flock. This morning, she flew from the perch to where I was standing at the door, landing on my arm. She prefers her morning scratch out of my hand. Sigh. She's also sweet to the other birds. One cockerel hurt his leg a week ago and has a bit of a limp. She goes and snuggles with him after breakfast.

As soon as I make sure her bit of a wry tail doesn't interfere with her laying, she has to GO. No pet birds here! No! I will not get attached to another bird!

Is it ok to give chickens peanutbutter? Saw where someone is selling 50lbs blcoks for $20 for livestock.
Yes, it's okay to give chickens peanut butter. What I do is core out a whole apple and then with a spoon put peanut butter in the middle where the core was and they LOVE it. I don't peel the apple or anything and an hour later, peanut butter, apple, and all, will be gone! It's one of their favorite treats.

Duchbunny, their laying season here has been a bit shorter than the Bourbon Reds, but during their season they've been pretty consistent. The female call is no where near as loud as a to gobble. Have you tried Googling the sound?

Haha I didn't think of that at all, you all are so smart!!!
I think it would be fun to have a pet turkey :)
I really want some peacocks, but I hear they are very loud and need a ton of space

cute name....of course you know since you named her she is yours forever  :lau
If I can name them and eat them, I can sure name them and sell them. She'd be gone already, except since she's got a slightly wry tail I want to make sure she can lay okay. She's POL now. We shall see how it goes!

Hehe...I can just see it now...being walked on a leash and everything!!

Dutch you are too cute!!

I think I'd be too tempted to eat the turkey once it started filling out just right...

I can't say anything about Peacocks, aside from what I've been told by others (aside from being pretty and good buggers, the rest has been rather negative). My goal is to one day have a pond dug on the property next to us (that we want to buy) and have a pair of swans...but my DH took one look at the price of a pair and said I was CRAZY!! He claims that he is NOT spending a small fortune on something he can't even eat!!

What a mean husband he is!! Good luck getting your pet Turkey (or peacocks!!)
