Does anyone know of a reputable source of D’uccles in N.C.? I’d rather not order from a hatchery and would like as many colorations as possible. I found someone on Craigslist who’s in Trinity, but her’s don’t all have beards, which I would like them to have.

I'm sorry, I don't know anyone. I think they would be fun birds and are oh so so cute, but those feathered feet!

I'll probably have a couple bantam Speckled Sussex cockerels to rehome in the next month or so. They're only 4 weeks, but when I rehome them depends upon how well they behave around their daddy...

I think I am ready to rehome a couple of the cockerels. They're not aggressive or bumping chests yet, but they're SO dramatic that it appears they're irritaing the adults. Zack is handling it well, but the hens are not.

The white chests will disappear with their adult feathers.

Eastern NC, Pitt County, and I will consider meeting partway if not too far.

I work at a school in the Raleigh/Durham area that has chickens and our rooster, who started out calm has started to show aggression towards the students and we have to find a new home for him. Anyone have any takers or an idea of what to do?

If he is human aggressive he needs to be dinner, not rehomed.

I'm okay with him being rehomed for that purpose, but still curious if there are people who help with that who can be recommended.

The last rooster I had to get rid of I just put on Craigslist. I’m sure Facebook Marketplace would work well too. Make sure to explain that he is human aggressive. You might still be able to get $10 for him.

Sorry about the rooster.
I agree, I'd post him on Craigslist, but do give a good description about why you are looking to rehome him. It's possible he may work out at a home where there's less human interaction and he has more hens/space, but once a rooster begins to show aggression towards humans, it's more likely he will continue with the behavior even when rehomed.

Hope you are able to find a solution.

At auction they go for 2-5 each, at MOST.

the only roosters worth $$ are gentle, sociable purebreds for breeding.
