All of these dogs are great! I bet most if not all of the chicken owners on here have at least one dog.

No dogs here, or cats for that matter. We do however foster puppies from the pound on occasion so that's enough dog time for me.

Well... it's another Monday.... we stayed pretty busy this weekend.
One of my chihuahuas had pups on Saturday...



Mimi is such a good momma.... she had 3 beautiful little girls.










And when we got home from WCA on sunday..... guess what we find??
Our young nanny goat had a brand new baby goat.







He is such a cutie...

We brought them into the back yard because our billy was jealous
and kept trying to butt the baby every time it went to nurse on his momma.




Our cow was being nosey in the background...

Thanks for the encouragement - TarheelBirdy. Just moved to this home last October and trying to keep up on all the landscaping the former owners took pride in. Now I've added to my work by bringing in chickens - what was I thinking I do feel a lot more informed since here at BYC. Hoping it all just starts flowing together and not too overwhelming.

Changed the chicks bedding this past weekend from wood shavings to sand (could only find play sand for now). Found a cool sifter tool in the kitchen section at Wal-mart. Need to find a small-combed rake to gather the droppings in one section better. A work in progress.

The girls are getting bigger and more social each day. They no longer run to the far end of the pen when I come by. Guess they know where the treats come from Have only tried spinach leaves and broccoli so far. They aren't much for broccoli but love love love spinach. I hold onto the leaves as long as I can as they nibble it down.

Loving the sunshine today. Here we will be getting rain tomorrow and Friday (of course on my day off).

Good morning everyone.. My rooster got attacked yesterday morning. I gave him a warm bath and washed all the blood off. Put some vasealine on his comb and wattles. Well this morning one of his eyes are swollen shut. What can I put on his eyes???

So sorry about your rooster. Sounds like you could use some opthamolic ointment in that eye. Not sure if the farm stores sell it or if you have to get it from a vet.

Aki was being such a good boy today, he such a laid back dog, at only 5 months old he has
o interest in exerting himself to chase chickens.

He says 'mommy I don't care about chickens, just pet me!"

Even with some chickens sneaking up on him, he just looks at me like..' is it nap time yet."

Man it sure would. I believe after tax at southern gin and grain its about 17 bucks. If I could find it for twelve that would save quite a bit over the year.

This is our rescued cat named Cash. I found him as a baby at the bank last August. I did a double take when I went out to get eggs this afternoon. Apparently he thought there was something he needed to hatch! No easy feat to get in there. The nest boxes are about 3 feet off the ground.....

I like your boxes not only do you get eggs and pet furries you can get a drink as well

Thanks everyone for the help. I rubbed his eye well and he is opening it a bit more. I know its going to take a few days to heal but thanks again so much!

very nice looking. we had a black one also, but had to send it to freezer camp because of a broken leg.
