North Carolina

Oh, I'll have plenty left! When so many people wanted them before, I doubled my order. And now I can't remember who they were. I have fifty plants. I'll plant maybe a dozen here, and the rest can go for $2.50 each, or equivalent trade. These are Carolina raspberries, bred for our climate. If folks will let me know how many they want, I can take the rest to the flock swap on Saturday.

I'll take 10.
Ten for Alex. You aren't coming to the flock swap are you? It's far for you. When will you be at WCA next?

I will be at the Tractor supply Sat. I will be the one with the red tent LOL Maybe I will be selling something you would like :)
Whatcha bringing? Although I must say I no longer get birds at the swaps. I'm hoping to sell my Californian doe and pick up a NZ doe, though.

The TSC on Raeford Rd in Fayetteville.

If you don't mind, can you tell me where you got them? If it was through the mail, I would love to order some. I'm sure you will find homes for what you have and it's too far from me anyway but my wife's favorite fruit is raspberries. We had one bush in WA state and one bush in Asheville but when we moved here....no raspberries but hundreds of wild blackberries so thick you can't get to all of them! We were clearing away morning glory vines trying to choke them out, and staking them up just today to get ready for the new season. We made 20 something half-pints of jam from them last year and looking to double that this year.

Since we will never be moving again, I would love to be able to get her a flock of the perfect raspberry plants as a surprise. Thank you!

Okay, 10 for Alex, five for Moore6, four for the Howards. An undetermined number for Beth. I texted Luke to see if he still wants some. And pmed the fire ant farmer. Anyone else? Edited to add...Luke wants five. There are more available if anyone wants them. :)

And, Good Morning, Happy Chicken People!

Today I am rearranging chicks again. The ones in the transition cage in the Juvenile Detention Center go to the floor, and the next oldest group go to transition. That will allow me to split up one group of little ones...the Whitmore group...that's too many for their space at the moment. All will be better soon. We are also finally getting that white rooster turned into dog food this morning.

When I got home from work yesterday, I noticed that not a single pullet was outside. The day was nice, and normally they would be. When I looked to see what was wrong, I noticed both cockerels in the corner of the pasture together....trying to challenge our barn cat, who sat casually on the other side of the fence. Good to know those boys are on the lookout, although that cat knows well not to bother even the smallest chick. But the cockerels didn't know that! And instead of vying for top roo position, they were working together on that cat. Love it!

Enjoy your day. I'll see some of you tomorrow!
