ugh finally time for bed. Cleaned all 14 pens today, built 2 new play/excerise pens for the birds that don't free range, and the rabbits. Sold a few chicks and hatching eggs. Found a random guinea or well rather it found the farm, just came wondering up out of the field behind the house........followed by a turkey..... the two are now sleeping in the old tree house. I'll try to get pics in the morning. my sweet little cat Gracie is due any day now, we were told that she had been spayed, but.....well.... she obviously isn't. I don't think she will have more than three....and if one is an orange tabby.....I'm keeping it

I had forgot to say about my DH constructing two homemade feeders for me today.

I saw the homemade ones out of PVC pipe and I thought that would be a great idea. I had a hanging feeder but the chickies kept knocking it around and I lost a lot of feed.

He will probably won't let me go to Home Depot anymore. Each time I go there I come home with something for him to do. Two days ago I came home with pavers and stone for in front of the coop and he got to work on it right away for me. I don't know how many more times he will just do my little projects before getting annoyed.



Here's the pavers he put down for me. It looks so cute now!

Saturday I hope to be sitting at a flock swap selling out
some birds and eggs

will have all 3 girls home today and doing the birthday
thing as well as some girls-day-out kinda thing

I'm planning on coming to WCA tomorrow. Anyone else? I know Mary and Bennie will be there. I'm bringing my teenage Dark Brahmas. After much consideration, I decided not to move in that direction. I have Orpingtons laying light brown eggs, RIRs laying eggs a bit darker, Wellies laying terracotta eggs, and will have Marans for the darkest. Then Amers for blue, and EEs and OEs for a rainbow. Add the brown leghorns for white, and I don't need more.

And as I typed that, I remembered I was supposed to get a count of leghorns for someone and see if I had some pullets to spare! I totally forgot! I'll count them tonight and look that up to see who wanted that info! My apologies for being forgetful and stupid!

I still consider it a Summer Break since I don't have to include waking my 13 year old and driving him to school in my morning tasks before I get to work. But by late August I am more than ready for school to resume. Makes me wonder what I'll find to fret about when the youngest goes off to college......
