I have a question that I need some advice with,,,,,I am at this time fixing a daytime run out of chicken wire and pvc. My question is...how to get them from the coop/run they have been use to. I didn't get them as babies. I got them the last of May and they were pullets about 7 mo old. A couple of them have gotten more cozy with me as they started laying. But how do you all get them to the other runs/tractors and back. Can't let them free-range due to predators and can't allow then to stay in it over nite because it is not reinforced against nighttime predators....HELP

Hello all. Eating a lunchable pizza in between carrying junk out to the trailer on the back of the truck. Little girl is still puffed up today. I have got to go to town later anyway for some linoleum hopefully tractor supply has corid for my little one. I wish I knew someone around here with goats so I wouldn't have to buy the whole pouch. It's right at 25 dollars online!!!!! Anyway thought I'd say hello to u all. It's so hot out there and even hotter in here. I could really use a nap but we already got the bed out. :( have a great day guys and pray for my little one!

I have done the moving thing and it about broke me physically,. my hubby was working as a tax accountant and couldn't get off during tax season so my son (5th grade at the time) and I move the whole house with a 6x10 trailer with 12in sides. Couch...everything! I can't imagine having to move with my animals! I'll be thinking about you...be careful

Today is actually the first day DH has helped move anything! And the heat I think has given me a headache that's no match for satan himself. Unfortunately I'm used to headaches I have chronic migraines. Needs to cloud up some cause I am roasting moving this junk. Just came to piggly wiggly to get some more banana boxes for JUNK that belongs to my pack rat. And don't even get me started on the closets! Lol

Moving SUCKS! Itotally feel your pain. Hubs and I moved our lives from OH to NC over the course of the past year. We made several trips - thank GOD for storage at our parent's houses and his uncle's 12' enclosed trailer. Moving will really show ya what love is all about!! Hang in there!

I have spent my day beating the birds to the figs and making strawberry-fig jam. It is sooooooo good!

I think I have another girl about ready to lay... they get so much more friendly and want to be rubbed... No eggs so far today, but our Leghorn girls are just 17 weeks old. Fingers crossed for more eggs here at the Sessler's!! :)

Just had to post to brag a little on our first ever broody hen

! This awesome little mama taught her ten little ones to climb up into the little coop that is attached to their little fenced in pen area...mama and chicks had been staying in a bucket on the ground with shavings but I guess mama decided that they were old enough to move to the coop! She climbed up herself and then spent the next 2 hours softly calling to them...6 made the move quickly but 4 little chicks were carrying on soooooo loudly (which is how we discovered what mama was up to). The last 4 four finally figured it out and the coop went quiet... big day for the babies!!
