[Coop Scoop Boogie]

Good morning folks

For years we never had a squirrel problem..........we always
had plenty of dogs and cats roaming the place to keep the
little critters at bay and so they stayed in the woods across the
road......a few years ago those trees were cut down and the
bushy tailed critters moved over to our trees and soon after
the war began between them and DH......he doesn't think they
are cute.......... he has since gotten himself a BB pistol to harass
the squirrels into nervous balls of fur that will cuss you out..... no
mistaking that chrittering as anything but a good cussing out. I
will admit DH seems to be keeping them on the move and not
eating so much of the birds feed

Still, when not armed with it, there is one squirrel that will let me get so close that if I stretched out my arm I could touch it. That fuzzy devil is always in the corn, worse thing is the flock just lets it eat. They have stopped chasing this one away. Normally they can't stand them and run them off.

I'm new to BYC and I'm in Rowan county! I just joined today so I'm still having trouble navigating the site but while I figure it all out if anyone can view my brooder box post and share some words of wisdom it would highly appreciated. I know everyone says that but I really do mean it!

This rain is INSANE!!!!

I have the 6-8 week old chicks back inside, and lots of food and water (not that they'll need it!) out for the other animals. My poor turkeys, their pen is a huge mud puddle. Just dumped in a big bag of pine bedding to try and dry it up and but it already washed away! It's supposed to stop this afternoon hope it's not an icy mess tonight. I hate leaving my animals even if it's only for 2 days.

Everyone traveling, have safe travels! I'm only going 400 miles up 95 north of Baltimore, but it took 12 hours last year (usually on takes 7 if I don't get stuck in DC), fingers crossed the rain doesn't make it worse. At least it's not snow like they're getting out West!

Onslow County.. We live in Swansboro on the Inter Coastal Waterway (ICW). We are just getting ready to start building our coop. Needed to find out from the town if it was ok to have one first. Any advice and help would be deeply appreciated

Very true! Jobs are scarce!

I live in Moore county.

I broke 100!!!!

Jobs here in the Jacksonville area of Carteret County and around Swansboro, Onslow County, are available. Part of the reason is that our front door is 12 miles from the front gate of Camp Lejeune. The military really do a great job at making sure jobs are available either on base or in town.
