North Carolina

Quote: Scott, I have found what looks like red and blue foam. I have found small shards of plastic like a shredded plastic soda bottle. The last draw was glass like a light bulb with the white powdery coating on flouresent bulbs. I tried to email them but all I received back was an email for a $2 coupon. I guess they have a disgruntled employee and very bad quality control. I also asked on the South Carolinat hread but I didn't get anybody there, I couldn't believe I was the only one. Thank you for answering me.

Anyone need/want a mottled bantam Cochin roo? He's free if you'd like to meet nearby to pick him up. Has a little bit of a Napoleon complex, but he's very handsome. Just turned a year old. I meed him gone asap, and I haven't had any luck with Craigslist/Facebook so far. :/

I live in randleman, I'll ask my neighbors if they want him. My coop isn't functional yet. Sorry if I posted this twice. I'm new and still trying to figure this out.

God morning folks

It seems Mother Nature is going to water the lawn and trees
for me. We are a on the dry side so the water will welcomed.
I do have plans for the weekend that don't include rain though.
The warm temps do have wildlife on the active side. We have
relocated a few snakes too......always interesting.

Does anyone here feed Nuterna poultry feed and are they having any problems with trash mixed in with the feed?

Yes!

I don't feed Nutrena, but that sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen! If someone's show birds were to die from that...not to mention regular birds, kid's pets, and all the others. I don't show, and I've never sued anyone, but if my birds ate that and died I'd be giving serious thought to one.

Well I don't feed it anymore. At first I saw green and blue stuff in the pellets and thought it must be vitamins or such. Then I started paying more attention and found it in the chick food too. Then I realized it was trash in it. I used quite a few bags by then.

Thank you. I think we will be doing this.

Hi Jt, I'm over in the Wake Forest area and attended the Tour d'Coop in Raleigh. What I found were lots of really nice designs, but nothing set up for a breeding/laying flock. Your mileage may vary over in Durham.

If you like, come the end of this month or early June, I would be willing to have you come by and see my setup. Just message me. I have just started out last summer with some hatchery pullets. This year I have a Red Dorking breeding project, a pair of Nankin bantams, and a small Black Java breeding project. I'm in the deep end, but that's how I roll.:D

We're sort of building as the flock needs occur. One thing I've observed is that the first 12 designs will not stay the same without being tweaked. :) If you're the type that only wants to build it once, you may end up working with something that doesn't quite work as efficiently as it could. JMHO. Best of luck and fun to you!

Good morning folks

Well.....we didn't get that promised rain and I am sure the
roses needed it but it's okay. I'll water the roses and be happy
they cleared up the weekend a little. The chickens prefer the
dry dirt and so do I. We have a few who take great joy in laying
those eggs in the mud and not in the nest box.
