you get to keep your handsome boy!!! so happy for you

I found a wonderful new vet today!! Took Nate to see him....I already had the diagnosis, and treatment regime---I just needed the med...think I already complained about the problem I had with my vet. Anyway---had no trouble finding the office in Black Mountain; staff is very personable and professional. They had everything ready (file) when I got there...only had to wait about 5 minutes. I swear---the physical Dr. M gave Nate was more thorough than any physical Dr. G gave my dogs in the 5 yrs he's been treating them. Dr M was very "open" to the treatment plan I (and lots of other Silkie breeders) use....he made a copy of it for future use---in case anyone else brings him a Silkie...lol. He said most of the chickens he sees are backyard flocks. He talked to Nate, and called him by name the whole time he was working with him---very impressive. He checked the dosages of what I had been giving Nate and agreed with them. Gave me the prescription I needed, and even included plenty for any future cases. He also told me that if any of the other birds have the problem, just call the office and they'll send me the med---so I won't have to come all the way from Bat Cave and stress the sick bird

can you believe that??? My old vet use to find every excuse in the book to charge me for another office visit. While I was there, I had the receptionist call my old vet and got the dogs' charts transferred to the new vet.

Nate's just happy to be home, I think...he hunkered right down in his blankey and went to sleep. I hate to have to disturb him for his night time meds.

Thank you'll for your concern about my little roo Nate

So you aren't too far away, I am located over in the Hickory area. I raise LF black and lavender orpingtons, bantam orpingtons in b/b/s & projects and serama's. We do show so I am hoping to meet some fellow byc'ers and they next show.

I want to add a couple of pullets/hens to my flock but I hesitate to purchase off craigslist. Anyone close to Guilford County have any pullets or hens for sale? Thanks! (already have a rooster; can't add another)

Mornin' all

Nate~~my little sick roo has made a turn around; he's showing improvement this morning, so it's just a matter of time before he's fully recovered~~thank God

Bad news~~my PC was infected with a virus last night while I was on the "people of Walmart" site; so I'm taking it to Staples this morning for "disinfection"......won't be online for at least two days Just wanted to let you'll know so you wouldn't think we'd been hit with a landslide, or a flood, or some other terrible thing

You'll have a MERRY CHRISTMAS
