Yummy! Does that come up every year? Or do you have to replant?

It is a perennial that comes up every year and even spreads!

I planted 50 asparagus plants here about 10 years ago. Unfortunately, they had all died out by the 4th year. They were "choked-out" by the wild chicory in that area of my yard.

I'd like to try again.....but it would take more digging that I'm allowed to attempt these days.

Many years ago, in Colorado, asparagus came up "wild" beneath a huge Russian-Olive hedge that I had there.

I really LIKE that asparagus....especially alongside a good quality steak !!!

Officially craving fresh aspargras!!!! Grilled, raw, steamed! Canned is sadly good in a pinch! So ready for fresh veggies!!!!!!

I can't tolerate the "canned" asparagus. Too mushy.

I've got an "asparagus steamer" that really does a fine job with fresh asparagus.
(It's just a tall narrow stainless-steel pot with a wire insert to hold the asparagus.)

Just popping in for a minute to say I find it funny that this thread now has over 400 posts, but the person who started it only made one post ever on BYC.
