Well... I FINALLY managed to find my way to pick up some feed yesterday!! Somehow
I got lost and called my husband in a panic (hey, I had a crying baby in the back seat!!) and he helped me to find my way. All in all, I think the drive would have been just under 45 minutes had I not been hopelessly lost!!
Although next month, I was told to order TWO bags of feed rather than one...first I better see how long it will last!!
Sadly, I didn't get to meet up with SCM...that's probably because she had no problem finding the place!!
Egg & Buttercup - BEAUTIFUL pictures!! I now have some more chickens to add to my "want" list!!
to the new people!!
Black Widow Update: for the moment, she is in hiding, as we have not been able to locate her each time we have gone out to the coop. I have heard that they are not aggressive spiders and would prefer to be left alone - I am praying that is the case for now at least. Although I do have a question...do any of you have an issue with cockroaches in your coop?? I could have sworn I saw a few (not sure exactly what a cockroach looks like in person, so I could be wrong) in the coop. Is it because we are surrounded by woods? Does that mean our coop is too dirty?? Is it normal?? What do I do, if anything?? Will chickens EAT cockroaches?? Will a black widow?? If so, she might be my new best friend (shudders at the thought).
On a happier note...my DH said, "We have plenty of room...we NEED more chickens!!
Sadly though...most of you are handing out boys and we already have 3 boys to our 4 girls. I have enough fighting going on already. I am thinking about ordering a few from MyPetChicken (if they have older pullets), but if I do, would I have to keep them separated for a bit?!? Anyone needing to thin out their pullet collection??
I have put it off as long as possible, but today I must get cracking on the two sheet cakes I am making for this weekend. Today will be a baking and frosting making day!! Sure hope it isn't TOO hot out today!!
