Felt it here too... China cabinet was rattling, thought the dog was under it. Joked that it was an earthquake. 5 minutes later, my mom puts on the tv and sure enough....

Hope everyone is okay! I didn't feel it here, but my MIL maybe 15min away did. And another quake could be felt in our old town in CO.

I am curious about how old 'miss' Blue is? Miss looks awfully MR.

Matt

I thought so too for a long time and maybe it is? It's about, I dunno....5 - 6 months old, may even be 7. No spurs, it doesn't crow (my younger roos all attempt to crow), it clucks and hen chatters. I dunno, I didn't really hatch these and all but 3 of them are mixed with who KNOWS what, is it possible it just has red around the ears because of being a possible mix? It flogs (not me, but the other chickens and has since a chick) but the roosters mate with it regularly, it's their favorite one! Then again, they also dance and shuffle for my MALE polish cross (who is very confused by it). <.< Who knows....I don't much care, but it's name is "Missy" because that is what everyone insisted to call it. >D

So, roo or hen? I'd certainly like to know! It's in with a mix of crosses and what not (there's even a little game hen in there), so I don't really care either way. I just keep these as pets and for eggs when they feel like laying any.

Just like my new peachick's name is "Lumba" and I didn't even get a say in it! 50 Nerd points if you get the reference though!

I am gunna say hen..... at 6-7 months old, she will get real red around the face and start laying. No rooish hackles or saddle feathers.

Still freaked out by this earthquake! Not a fan!

Bhep - I told my friend about the EEs and she was going to talk it over with her husband. They're only 4 days younger than the little Ameraucana she has so they would be a nice fit! She did ask if you had any pics - feel free to email them to me with price and whatnot if you can! Thanks!!!

BTW, are you supposed to run outside in an earthquake? I need to brush up on earthquake protocol.

SCB.... I 'll head out for pics.

Yep, totally freaked me out here too! Couch started shaking, I yelled at the dog to stop itching herself against the couch... then I notice the dog is outside?!

Daughter asked me to stop messing with her, so totally freaked her out too.

Never been through an earthquake before, so I have to say I'm grateful we weren't that close at all! I couldn't imagine if we were in the 5.9 range! OUCH!
