Thanks Lunar for that great advice!!

I told my mother I didn't need to worry about not being able to drink the tap water as we have well water, so I didn't "need" to buy water (just in case). She responded with, "How is your pump going to pump the water without electricity?" LOL...OOPS. Good thing it's still early enough to make a run if we need to.

Because I couldn't resist sharing, here is a photo of Miss Carolina TinkerBell (named by my nieces...to me it sounds like a pageant name or something. LOL) She doesn't look it, but she can purr as loud as thunder it seems!!

Hello I'm Cindy and I'm new here. So new I cannot post my location on my profile yet I guess.

I am in Wake Forest, just north of Raleigh. I'm a long-time reader, but decided to post because I have a young rooster I'd like to find a home for in the area. We had 1 rooster & 2 hens, decided to just go with hens so we gave the big guy to a friend, but did have 3 chicks hatch (2 girlies & the subject of this msg) from the big guy's time with us. We are keeping the 2 girls, but would like to give the rooster to a good home that may need him. He was born on 6/14 or 6/15, so I guess he's about 10 weeks old.

The little guy does not like my husband anyway, but that was especially true with the camera in his hand, so the pictures are not that great. Sorry.

I guess the best thing is to send me a private message if anyone is interested or has a question? Let me know if that's not right. I don't want any money, just a home for him.

I'm going to try to head to Chickenstock, yes....as well as drag some friends along who may have some nice pretty peachicks and/or eggs. Unfortunately, I have nothing to sell or trade myself (except money and I have this funny feeling it's going to escape my pocket if I go...), though I DO have a TON of eggs that I probably COULD bring if I wanted to...and may just to see if anyone wants them since both of my incubators are constantly running on full with eggs-in-waiting. x.x Speaking of which, I'm waiting impatiently (nervously) to see if these Marans and Polish hatch so I know 1) if a bad egg killed them and 2) so I have room for more eggs.

I'm blaming BYC for this addiction. YOUR FAULT GUYS! YOUR FAULT!

So glad to see you are going to try and join us. Did you post on the chickenstock thread, I can't remember off the top or my head??

What would you be looking for? What type of eggs do you have?

I myself don't really have many birds to bring, just a few bantam cochin cockerels. I will however have a few dozen eggs from my various groups available. We are also bringing hutches, small wire cages, DE, cupcakes and cookies.

I did post in the thread.
I could bring baked goods, I'm just not sure if people would really want them since it seems like a lot of people are bringing some along. I have a couple Guinea (not many, unfortunately), Amers, and some quail eggs that I certainly COULD part with, they have been waiting for bator space.

As for what I WANT? Oh don't even get me started.

I probably couldn't resist some silkies or polish....

Too bad you weren't free this Saturday, Chickenstock is turning out very nicely, sure someone there would be looking for what your offering.

I was originally supposed to be off work...being I am in healthcare that doesn't always happen. I would LOVE to attend because I have lots of chickens I could sell or trade and its perfect timing.

. Seems I am always a day late and a dollar short.

I hope it turns out really well for everyone and the weather is good.
