When do you think I can put my new d'uccle chicks outside to integrate with the four bantams already have? Is it four weeks, or older? I've never had to integrate babies into an existing flock, just built them a new coop. Don't think that will happen this time.

IDK... D'Uccles are pretty small babies, I guess it would depend on the other birds. What kind of bantams are they? and how old? I put my D'uccles out to free range when they were about 3 months old. Prior to that they were in a grow out coop.
If you decide to put them out....watch carefully !

G&A are these your eggs or shipped eggs??? Just one ? Awww congrats. Are the other eggs not fertile or are they quitting. ?????

Let me know..... I dry incubate and have AWESOME hatches, mine and shipped. Of course the eggs have to be packed right & make it through the PO. But I can give you some info on the dry incubation if you want to try. As in the prior posts... I have Ameracaunas hatching know that have been through heck & back. I have 11 out 2 zipped & 2 pipped. Out of 21 eggs shipped , 18 in lock down. I have been hatches like this all summer. NO Joke !! I am over run..

Beth,

the one that hatched is from Betsy - Renegaderidgefarms - and i have 12 from a lady in SC (shipped) and 12 in the incubator from Judy in Florida. I am running my humidity slightly lower than usual then just bumping in up for lockdown......

Please send me details on dry incubating, I am keen to learn. I also have 2 chicks outside under broodys who also have 7 eggs they are taking in turns to sit on. Do you know if I can introduce this chick tonight under one of the broodies?

Gavin.

Can anyone tell me what the best incubator would be to do a dozen eggs with? I am wanting to get eggs in the spring to hatch so my kids can have the experience of hatching chicks. I don't need a ton of them so I figure a dozen will be a good start since we will probably add the chicks to our existing flock when they are old enough. I want an incubator that will be reliable but not cost a ton. Any help would be appreciated.
