Looks really good HT!! Let me know when you start dealing in milking sheep and then I will force DH to drive me up to your farm!!

so excited for your DH!! We will continue to pray for him!! Please keep us posted!!
Okay, so I go to TSC and they just happen to be OUT of safeguard (all they had was one HUGE thing for horses) and absolutely NO wormers aside from the wazine (??). I picked it up anyway as well as the nutridrench stuff. Susan seems to still be active, although today she does seem a bit slower than the rest.
I also noticed it looks (from a distance) like she may have some more poo on her bottom. What would cause that, any ideas? I cheated and bought a smaller waterer since we have 7 gallon waterers and I would not be permitted to fill one, dispense the meds and then walk around the barn to hang it up. I bought a 1 gallon waterer so I can measure the dosage/gallon stuff easier. Still worried about Susan, could she be egg bound even though I didn't feel anything and didn't see anything? Could she have some other problem related to that?

I am just worrying and don't know what to do!!
Make sure that you only put out the one waterer with the wazine in it, that way they have to drink the wormer. sometimes poopy butt can mean worms. Have you noticed her in the nest box more than normal, or squatting around the coop like she is trying to lay an egg, I'm telling you it's really hard to know but worming would be a good start, if you decide to worm first then after the 3 days start the nutri drench and give it to them for about 3 days along with some type of good probiotic to help get the gut working normal again.
Thank you ML!! I didn't even think about pulling up the other waterers!!
It would be one of those "duh" moments, and yet I still needed the reminder.
Thank you so much!! Waiting on DH to come home so we can get the waterers taken down - I guess this is as good a time as any to give them a thorough scrub down - and the dewormer hooked up!! I have not seen her acting like she wants to lay, just waddles around like her bottom is a bit sore. What works as a good probiotic? I don't have any yogurt/dairy in the house (aside from raw sheep's milk) so I don't know what would count. I have some Poly - something or other drops for babies, but I think mine has iron in it (can't remember). I did buy a bottle of nutridrench...do I put the whole bottle in the water? The directions said something like 4oz/gallon and well...the bottle is only 4oz. Did I read that wrong? They will have drank 1 gallon in a day...should I go out and buy more? Bah!! I hate feeling so inadequate, but I am super thankful for each and every one of you who is trying to help me figure out what is troubling my little Susan!! Thank you all again!! Susan is a lucky gal to have so many people trying to help "fix" her!!

Hi, what i do with the Nutri drench is I give 1 capful to a gallon of water but this is just therapudic if giving for a problem then it says on my bottle to give 4oz per gallon . do you think with dh help you could give it to her directly in her mouth it would take affect quciker the directions should be on the bottle. I buy it in qt sizes so I don't run out. I don't know about sheeps milk as a probiotic, but next time you go to the feed store you can get probiotics for animals and it will keep for a long time. it's in a powder.
We bought the qt size nutri drench for our molting birds. Ruthann, don't worry we are all new to this. I also give ACV once a week, not too strong, and we also have poly visol w/out iron which I used before I got the nutri drench.
yogurt is the pro-biotic of choice around here. I make "muck" ... uncooked oatmeal, buttermilk, plain yogurt and I add flax seed or left over bird seed from the inside birds. My flock LOVE it.... I get attacked !
Scrambled or boiled eggs are also good.
Wazine is a good start, you need to re-worm in 10-14 days so you have some time to get the safeguard. There are other wormers but they have to be given to each bird orally. I think it would just be easier for you right now to just do the safeguard in the water.
Keep us posted....
