Okay, so I go to
TSC and they just happen to be OUT of safeguard (all they had was one HUGE thing for horses) and absolutely NO wormers aside from the wazine (??). I picked it up anyway as well as the nutridrench stuff. Susan seems to still be active, although today she does seem a bit slower than the rest.
I also noticed it looks (from a distance) like she may have some more poo on her bottom. What would cause that, any ideas? I cheated and bought a smaller waterer since we have 7 gallon waterers and I would not be permitted to fill one, dispense the meds and then walk around the barn to hang it up. I bought a 1 gallon waterer so I can measure the dosage/gallon stuff easier. Still worried about Susan, could she be egg bound even though I didn't feel anything and didn't see anything? Could she have some other problem related to that?
I am just worrying and don't know what to do!!
Make sure that you only put out the one waterer with the wazine in it, that way they have to drink the wormer. sometimes poopy butt can mean worms. Have you noticed her in the nest box more than normal, or squatting around the coop like she is trying to lay an egg, I'm telling you it's really hard to know but worming would be a good start, if you decide to worm first then after the 3 days start the nutri drench and give it to them for about 3 days along with some type of good probiotic to help get the gut working normal again.
