Welcome! There are a few people in the Fayetteville area! :)

X2 WELCOME

Hi,
I introduced myself on the introductory thread, and a kind NCer directed me here. I'm Meg, and I live in Parkton, between Fayetteville and Lumberton. I'm pleased to see the NC swaps and sales posted, as I'm looking to add some bantams to the place. And I'm always open to more Orpingtons of any color. Nice to meet you!

What kind of bantams are you looking for........... I have Serama, D'uccles, BBRs, Ameracaunas (Lav. Blue, Black, Splash) Wyandottes (partridge & silver laced) Silkies, Sizzels..........And I can't even remember what else

Welcome! I'll have some Japanese Bantams in Birch at the WCA tomorrow. 3 hens and 1 roo. 2 of the girls are over a year and have been laying and the 3rd will start laying soon. The roo is under a year too and very calm. Not to mention his crow is kinda... well... blah! I laugh when I hear him its so raspy and quite. Hahaha

Guess what ya'll! Those 2 unknown silkies that have driven me crazy trying to ID them.... they BOTH laid me eggs this week. So I got PLENTY of pullets now. You know what it means though. I may need a pretty little boy to go with them. :D Hehehe

NH, I'm videotaping it next time!! Sunglasses, sunglasses, sunglasses!!!

Bhep, I LOVED that hen and would have taken her home in a minute! If she ever needs a home she has one at my house!! You can just throw her in with the 3 Serama broodies. LOL

2 pullet eggs a day doesn't feed up!!! hahaha

I've been digging up plants outside for a bit. Haven't gotten a lot so far. My back isn't doing well after all the tilling, digging, raking, pebble moving, sand raking... ugh! I take on too much! hahaha

I'm still piling up as many plants as I can. No promises on what I'll have. :p

Thanks Beth. One thing I have to say honestly NEVER crossed my mind when hubby first introduced the thought of raising chickens was a "saddle" for them.

I can only imagine what I would've said to him if he mentioned that along with all of it. haha. But now I understand and am sure I'll have a few of them myself eventually.

Here is a couple pics from their 1 week birthday yesterday.

One of the little Silkies falling asleep. Her name is Ms Feathers. Let's hope she stays a female. lol.

One of our Araucanas named Brownie.

Our little mystery freebie baby named Valentine. Anyone recognize this breed? There are all speckle spots
on her/his head and back.

Well then..... I will have to produce a LF black molted hen for her.

You are welcome to experiment on us anytime....however, I think that she just enjoys pointing and saying "chicken" and then asks to go outside to play "ball" with them!!

DoubleA - If you bring a videotape, you are going to be banned!! LOL. DH said it sounds like, "apples" to me...then she said it again, with the "s" VERY pronounced and he just smirked and said, "never mind".

He was debating whether or not to tell her that what she is saying is a "bad" word, but I had to explain to him that she doesn't even know what it WOULD mean and her knowing that "sunglasses" sounds like something else would only encourage her to say it in the wrong context. LOL. He's paranoid she's going to be walking around church saying, "it"... LOL
