ACK!! Just when we find out our little one does NOT like to be hot, it has to be hot. LOL To top it off, it registered 88 in my house yesterday evening, so DH insisted on turning the AC on.
hit.gif
The AC took the house temp up to 98...never cooled the house off - we ended up opening up all the doors & windows to cool it down and now...with 90+ weather all week...now I have to find a good HVAC person that won't rob us blind, yet knows what he/she is doing!!

Maybe I should try what the chickens do...just dust bathe outside. Has anyone tried it?? LOL

Have a great day all...stay cool if you can. Company leaves today!! It's bittersweet as it was a really nice visit, but it will be so nice to get back into our normal routine!!

On a side note: left the outlet mall with only buying an extra bread loaf pan!! WOOT!!

What kind of hvac system do you have. Are you sure it was not in the heat setting. Couple of things you can do yourself are
  1. Change all filters (you have at least one)
  2. using your hose spray off the out side unit (if you have a heat pump or split sys) The coil out side can collect hair, grass, ants and dirt and get clogged. Turn off the breaker for the unit. Take off the cover for the out side unit and spray with hose until clean.
if that does not help you may have a freon leak or a mechanical problem with your unit.

lol My dh is a HVAC tech and I have done service calls with and for him.

Thank you so much Moores6!!
All I know is we have a dual system (upstairs is on a separate unit than the downstairs). I do know it was not set on heat, but that's about all I know. LOL. I change the filter on our unit every 3 months (or sooner when it is full). DH went out and said there was nothing blocking the coil (he's a mechanical engineer...so I do trust he MIGHT know what he's talking about...hehe) I will go out later (after finding which breaker is which) and hose it down. Thank you for all of the suggestions!! LOL...does DH work near Johnston County at all?? LOL

No, he works for the union on FT Bragg and is not allowed to do side work. Which sucks at times. When looking for a hvac tech be careful. Anyone offering to give you a "free cleaning and estimate" will find something wrong even if the problem is small or easy to fix.

HI There Duke!

Is there any chance your unit had a reset button? I know ours every once in a while just needs to be reset, sometimes after a big storm and we lose power or after a long time of not being on.

Just some pics of the chickens in the grow out pen!
