You don't feed your birds on the day you process so their crops aren't full right? I remember doing that last time, but I wanted to see if it was a rule of thumb?

well.....spend the better part of the day on the phone with the county zoning board....me calling and them calling back .....to make a long story short.....we have everything we need to raise and sell any kind of fowl we like(our state green card).....and they told me I could have all the chickens I wanted to have .....theres nothing anyone can do about it

so the lady behind us (our very nice neighbor) has 3 things she can do....#1 move somewheres else!

#2 put up with my crowing roosters or #3 get her own chickens to love and stop hating on mine

HOORAYYYY!!!!! It was worth going through just to have this clarification - now you can raise your flock with confidence, and she can go screw herself.

I just had to rehome my gorgeous roo because of my pissy next door neighbor >:/ He's been crowing for a year now and she just started whining about it so I decided not to risk losing my whole flock just for him I'm horribly sad but I've got 5 pullets from him and another hen is setting right now. Would love to get more info on the swap this weekend in Burlington?

I sent you a PM, but I'm answering just in case anyone else is wondering.

Tractor Supply on Huffman Mill Road in Burlington (in the WalMart shopping center, right off I-40) is having a flock swap at 9 am on Saturday, June 9. Free to set up. They have an ad on Greensboro Craigslist, just search "flock swap."

I'll be there selling some Barred Rock chicks and some guinea keets!

GREAT HATCH.... IF I am counting right there are 11 out so far out of 14. I will be emptying the hatcher tonight and will get an accurate count.

Oh those polish sound nice So sad no room right now. Gotta do the chicken shuffle this weekend again.

WOO HOO!! So glad that the two of you are willing to help us out with this "wonderful" tick problem we have!!

Have I told you two just how much you mean to me?!? You two are the BEST!!

Busy day ahead of us with company and DH having the day off!! Boy do I love that man!!

The chicken disease has CONSUMED him!! He told me last night he would like to get some RIR because, "I like their look"...

So glad he can chose a chicken based upon it's "looks"...haha. LOVE IT. Our chicken math has us at 22 chickens so far - although 4 of those are guaranteed to go to freezer camp...

Morning ya'll! It's a great day! I'm lucky enough that DH and I work 4 ten hour days a week so we get Fridays off! Woke up to my rooster, Cluck Norris, crowing and my peacock Mickey hollering. How do people NOT like this!? I just don't understand....

Some people are just filled with hate and want to make those around them just as miserable as they are.... Just my opinion.

We are so glad we were covered, but were willing to get whatever permit/license we needed to keep our flock. I guess she thought we would be imtimidated by being contacted by the county zoning office.... goes to show she doesn't know us at all.
