A newbie in Fayetteville here. I have a Swedish Flowering Rooster and Light Sussex rooster to part with ASAP. They are getting noisy and I live inside the city limits. Any suggestions where to advertise? Or get them "processed"?
I could probably take the light sussex off your hands, you wouldn't happen to have a hen to go with him or trade a hen for a hen to go with him?

Thanks for the suggestions. I was just looking at Craigslist. What do you sell an heirloom breed rooster for? Or any rooster? Or do I just give him away?

I need some help… I need a gun for protecting my flock/land. Something that is super easy to handle, I'm inexperienced. And cheap. Can ya'll give me some ideas, opinions?!
Sorry to hear that. I purchased a Junior 20 gage this spring because of the coyote problem that I was having. This one did not have as much kick as some may, but I could put the piece in the end that makes the spray tight, so as not to have to much over spray. I did not want to hit my target, and still spray the birds. It was also lighter weight, you don't realize how heavy 7-9 lbs can feel until you hide and wait ready to fire carrying something for a while. Good luck, I'm sure many of the others on here have some ideas.
Anything would be better than the repeat of the night before I made that purchase; out on the north end chasing them things with a broom stick!

I won't be doing a replay of that one in the early am again. They tore and mangled fences trying to figure out how to get in to the birds. They had been there each night for so many nights that we had few enough birds to put them all in one coop! This coop is quite sturdy for one made of recycled materials.

I really hope you can keep your flock safe. It is disheartening to find a loss in your flock. Do you know what is getting your birds?

I'll ask hubby. He's a concealed weapons instructor. ....And his first question is: Do you want rifle or pistol?

Good Morning, Everyone!

Temps are supposed to stay down today. They are coming to clean the chimney, which is good. The heater is out again, so the fireplace becomes more important until that blasted thing is fixed. There's a part that the guy doesn't want to replace until he's tried everything else, because it's not cheap. I can appreciate that, and I'm glad he's thoughtful of my chicken-buying-funds.

However, I'm ready for him to replace the dang thing. It about to be very cold!

Hubby got the incubator back to where I wanted it yesterday. As he puts it on the indicated table he asks, "You did measure, right?" I said "Of course not! I just eye-balled it." He groaned, and then slid it into place where it fits perfectly. Then he gave me a funny look and left.

I love it.

Have a great day!
