Just lost my Red Dorking Cockerel... He was in the bachelor pad but there's a bully in there... poop... grr... I may end up eating the bully for dinner even though I was planning on breeding him. He has great form. He's a silkie dorking cross. I have a pullet that is of the same variety and i have gotten some interest from people that were wanting some chicks... but I may just flush that line.... Guess I'll calm down first before making any decisions.

If it is a hawk or another rooster, something will always find a way to get your favorite! My most special roo was "Zippy" (over 10 years ago)he was a sweet bantam EE boy, top rooster and the ladies loved him. but 2 of his brothers got jealous and took him out.

here is Zippy as a chick. He is the little one with the stripe, one buff and one black offed him.

Zippy did have a baby with a silky...

"Baby Gaga"
She was funny I thought she was a rooster too, she used to attack my leg like a rooster, and I almost put her down, then she laid a little green egg. and I realized her attacking me was like a "love" attack, and I started to love/cuddle her more, and she stopped attacking.

So... I'm at work. My husband is the one that told me that my dark rooster died... I asked him for a photo to verify which one, but he was too busy, then he was gone, then too busy. Anyway, long story short: It wasn't my Red Dorking (YAY!!! Thank goodness). It was my Red Dilkie (dorking/silkie). He was a total sweetheart, but I'm much more ok losing him than the Red Dorking. Still thinking I'll take the bully to dinner though.

A picture of my little Seramas from @UGLYFOOT . They look so small when you notice the canning jar feed jar.
These Ameraucanas from @CGilbert and Olive Eggers are growing pretty fast.

Wow they're growing fast! Wonderful! Do you know if they're pullets or cockerels?

they Look so cute. That's ok I am sure I can find another buff chick at one of the feed stores.
they are calm. i have been letting them free range during the day, they come back to their little house. it use to be for my 2 f/w ducks, but they went to the big duck house on their own.
I keep meaning to ask you, which one is Thelma & which one is Louise? 1 is bigger and a few days older.
Thanks,
