Does anyone use sand in their coop?

I have linoleum with shavings on top.




That is great!! I love it when our family's share in the chicken love! My adult kids love them!

I have linoleum with shavings also. My coop remodel includes poop boards with sand and a dusting tote in the coop as well.

A lady in my area came and got 8 young birds from me including my blue roo

Update on my hatch: I did a lot of documenting on my eggs last night. Each one is numbered, air cells marked, weight loss calculated and temp and humidity checked. I lost 1 more tonight I was pretty sure it was dead last night but I wanted it to be alive so I left it for 1 more day. Little bugger never came back to life...so I tossed it

Here is a list of what I have left:

3 Chocolate/Cuckoo Orpingtons
7 Blue and/or Gold Partridge Brahmas

7 Assorted Orpingtons (surprises)
3 Red Cuckoo Orpingtons
7 Blue and/or Black Copper Marans
1 Laced Orpington (Silver or Gold)
1 Silver Partridge Orpington (fingers crossed)
2 Red Orpingtons

Next candle will be Thursday. Praying everything continues to go well for these little ones

A5am cemani are beautiful too. I just know eventually I'm going to break down and buy Ayam cemani's from @UGLYFOOT. Viva la resistance.. for now...

Ha ha my little ole pullet won't be laying till late summer/early fall I think, so plenty of time to resist.

1 blue isbar. (I think this breeder like blue chickens)

My husband is going to kill me... I got some more D'Uccles and some D'Anvers from ebay... We're going to need to get some banty coops and runs going. Got any ideas I can use for little coops for the bantys? I'm *hoping* to only have a handfull of each breed lol.
