Yeah, we haven't had any luck selling the ducks yet either. Have some one who wants 2 females and a male, but we only had a few females we're keeping... So more meat for our freezer.

On that note, I processed 4 more boys last week and have decided I need a butcher buddy. I was so bored plucking by myself, and it goes so much slower when only 1 person is doing it all.

And the sickly d'uccle chick died like I thought it would, had to put the one with slipped tendons down. Down to 3 chicks. Sigh.
Are you looking to raise the D'uccles for yourself? *hugs sorry about the two losses.

Thank you!!! @Saris I will try there.

@firedragon1982 . Sorry about the chicks. I didn't get a single one from 10 replacement eggs sent to me for the silkie/showgirl duds. Had two make it to lockdown, only to die in the shell. They were fully formed silkies.

No problem!

Sorry about your lost chickies, I know silkies can be prone to nutrient deficiencies I wonder if the breeder is having an issue she is unaware of.

For the most part boy ducks just run around and try to mount chickens, but my daughter did have one wonderful boy duck named "Timber" (Shiver-Me-Timbers). He loved to cuddle, would never pooh on you and if a hen came by for cuddles he would chase her off and hop back up on your lap.

Awww, and that is the reason I want to get ducks. I hear they're just like little puppies that follow you around. Except they like water a bit more ;)

I'm getting so nervous/excited for my Ams to hatch. I'm keeping them until I know their genders. I hope to get a choc boy but the odds of that are pretty slim if I remember correctly.

The lavs will be beautiful but I don't have room to house them separately and I don't want to mess them up by mixing them with my BBSCM Ams to be.

Oh it's so neat!!!!!!

Gahhh

If you need to get rid of a couple pullets later let me know!! I love my Ams and want more lol

Different versions of perfect nights: tonight's version consists of crocheting my daughter a new blanket while cuddled up with my son on the couch watching the heffalump Halloween movie.
Hubby and daughter decided that 4:30am was a good time to wake up, so they both agreed to go to bed early tonight (i was actually up with my daughter, but he woke up to. Then took her driving while he went up to the mountains to check out some bear spots).

Side note: I placed an order with Sandhill last August. My first possible ship date was today. Didn't get a call. So I get to wait another 2 weeks.
