3 of my duck eggs took almost 48 hrs to zip with a little help from me.

P.S. the 3 ducklings im refering to, hatched on day 31... I thought they were not going to make it, that is why I helped out a TINY bit. I just peeled away the shell where they had piped. Duck shells are sooo tough, I thought they were having a hard time breaking/zipping, so i helped a little. It worked out ok, they are here. actually country lovin has one of them. :jumpy

Semi emergency question, does anyone have an empty bator? My mother in law's broody quit on Day 3 of incubation..... She lives in Rathdrum, but I'm going out there tomorrow. I could trade chicks hatched or fertile eggs after the hatch, or even pay 20 bucks to rent it.

I have plenty of space. Working tonight, going thru Rathdrum at about 7:30 am tmr morning, meeting at 2:00, I could go back home before work and take them if they can wait that long.

I'm not sure she wants them to travel, but I'll call her later and find out. F@firedragon1982 would you be comfortable setting the bator up at her place? I visit weekly and can check on eggs.

Sure, it doesn't have a turner. It's a cheap LG want to be, when should I take it to her? I don't want to disrupt anyone's sleep! LOL
